Brian Jones and Anna Wintour

One was a Rolling Stone. One is editor of US Vogue. Could they, by any chance, have been related?

Damn. You have stumbled on the filthy secret. Brian Jones did not die in that swimming pool. He lives, as does Elvis, and now you have broken his witness protection programme cover. He will be forced to move on, hopefully to greater heights. Can it be long before he is doing book reviews for the Listener?

No offence to Pamela Stirling but that would be a bit of a drop in status from Vogue, wouldn't it. Not to mention the money.

A drop in status? 'Pon my very soul. I must have been misinformed. I was given to understand doing book reviews for the Listener was the very height of literary endeavour. Or, is it the place literary talent goes to die? I have never been quite sure about this.

Yeah but can she play guitar? He was always the most musical Stone. Or should I say 'she'?

Young Anna Wintour was friends with the host of ready Steady Go, the mod host. Wintour's father apparently consulted with the pop host to connect with youth pop culture. Anna Wintour was young enough to be 14 when the mods all had their hair in bangs and went out to many parties and was involved with the culture that ironically looks like she does now.

When Brian Jones and Anita Pallenberg were an item they essentially looked identical in the same hairstyle (now worn by Anna Wintour) and even in some of their clothing which according to accounts they shared (except I don't believe Brian wore skirts...). It's a great hairstyle if one has the right hair and shape of head.
